- The regulator’s own roster. New Jersey states that a site not on the list is not approved for internet gaming in the state.
- Permit holder
- The licensed entity named on the roster. A sister URL may not share that permit.
- Geofence
- You must be in the licensing state. A “US facing”.com is not a substitute.

How do I verify a US online-casino licence?
Open the gaming regulator for the state you are physically in. Find the authorized-sites or licensed-provider list. Match the exact site and permit holder. If the status is missing, New Jersey’s rule of thumb applies everywhere: not on the list means not approved. Do not use a third-party “licence checker.”
Does a foreign gaming seal count?
No. US iGaming is a state licence. A foreign seal is not on NJ DGE, PGCB, or MGCB rosters. Treat it as unverified — and in not legal states, as unlicensed.
02Advice
Can I verify a site for a state with no iGaming?
No. If the online casino status is not legal, there is no roster to match. California’s Commission says it has never licensed online casinos. Verification cannot mint a permit.
Is this page legal advice?

As of our October 13, 2026 check, online casino is live in 7 jurisdictions: Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, West Virginia. Every other state either has no law, has a law that has not launched yet, or limits play to a physical venue. Check the state regulator before you deposit, because launches and repeals happen mid-year.
Does a Curaçao or Malta licence make a site legal in the US?
No. Only a licence from the state where you are standing counts. Offshore licences have no standing with US state regulators, and you have no state complaint route if a withdrawal is refused.
Where does the licence number appear?
Licensed sites show the regulator logo and licence number in the footer. Compare it with the regulator list; a logo alone can be copied.
