Tropicana Las Vegas
Tropicana Las Vegas stood at East Tropicana Avenue, Paradise, NV. What follows is the history we can cite: the dated record, then what is on that ground now. This is not a live casino page.
April 4, 1957
Tropicana opens as the “Tiffany of the Strip”. South Beach glamour and Folies Bergère cemented a mid-century Strip legend that lasted into the 2020s.
April 2, 2024
The casino-hotel closes for good. Room inventory and gaming on the Tropicana–Las Vegas Boulevard corner shut ahead of redevelopment.
October 9, 2024
Towers imploded for a ballpark future. A drone-and-fireworks farewell preceded Controlled Demolition’s drop to clear the Athletics / Bally’s project site.
Opened in 1957 and was among the last mid-century Strip resorts still standing before the 2024 closure and implosion.
