Iconic closed casinos
17 iconic closed casinos told as stories — when they closed, what the record says they were, and what is on that ground now. Not machine counts, and not in the operating catalog.
Each card is a short history: the dated record, then what replaced the building. No slot counts, no hours, no rating. These names stay out of operating casino totals.
Did the Tangiers casino really exist?
The Tangiers Hotel & Casino in the film Casino (1995) did not exist. The skim story follows the real Stardust; interiors were filmed at the Riviera and exteriors at the Landmark.

FAQ
FAQ
Are these casinos still open?
No. Each entry is a memorial record for a venue people still search for. Operating casinos in our catalog are listed separately on each market page.
Why is The Mirage listed if the building is still standing?
The Mirage closed in July 2024 for a Hard Rock renovation — partial demolition, not a full Strip implosion like the Tropicana. We keep a memorial card for the Mirage name and link forward to the Hard Rock rebuild record.
Did the Tangiers casino really exist?
The Tangiers Hotel & Casino in the film Casino (1995) did not exist. The skim story follows the real Stardust; interiors were filmed at the Riviera and exteriors at the Landmark.
